That's right.

[He leans over to take a look.]

Almost there. You're doin' great.

[Spy cracks a smile, pleased with himself. Closer and closer the fish gets, until he can actually pull the fish out of the water and onto the bottom of the boat, flopping around at the end of his hook.]

I did eet!

[He is so happy with himself. The fish, however; is not, trying to flip out of the boat.]

Good job, partner!

[He reaches under the seat and empties the beers out of the bucket, scooping up some water from over the side of the boat and depositing the fish into it.]

Not a bad size, either. A little small, but a catch is a catch.

He has spots.

[The shiny spotted fish swims round and round in the small space making little splashes, not much happier about that.]

Hush you, you are going to be delicious.

Sure is, assumin' we don't let him go for something bigger later.

[He grabs a beer and turns back to his rod, as patient as ever.]

Now you get more bait and do it again. It ain't so hard, is it?

I see.

[He rolls up his sleeves, cringing as he pries the hook out of the fish's mouth, ready to try again. Of course that means he needs another worm. And he still doesn't really want to touch those. He stalls by watching the very few other people who are awake sitting on the shore in chairs to enjoy what's left of the sun before the clouds cover it up.]

[While Spy looks to the shore, Engineer looks to the clouds again- they're rolling in faster than he thought they would, but they still should have an hour or so. Leave it to rain to ruin his peace and quiet.]

You said you didn't like lightning. Had a bad experience with it?

I do not like electricity. Also lightning causes fires.

[Which wouldn't be much of a problem when they were sitting in the middle of a lake, but still made him nervous. Peering into the bucket with the worms he makes a disgusted face, gingerly pulling one of the horrid wriggling creatures out of its depths. It starts squirming and he promptly drops it on the planks of the boat.]

[Engineer picks up the worm for him with his Gunslinger, offering it back to Spy.]

I'm guessin' that comes from that shield some of those Snipers carry?

[He takes it back, biting the tip of his tongue as he swallows his pride and dignity and skewers it on the hook.]

Zhat too. But I told you, I fell eento an electric fence.

[And that was entirely discounting how much metal is in him now.]

At least you've got yourself a reason to stay on your guard.

[He smiles as Spy finally manages to bait his own hook, grinning harder to himself.]

And to stay invisible.

[He sends his hook and worm sailing away from the boat, landing slightly further than the first time with a soft plunk.]

[He watches Spy's cast off before turning back to his rod, still smiling.]

Thanks for comin' out here with me, Spy.

Eets zhe least I can do when you let me dress you yesterday.

[He settles back, finally grabbing one of the beers.]

I am surprised I did not impale eizzer of us on hooks yet.

I got one stuck in my ear one time. It was the only time I ever got a teammate to come fishin' with me. I probably should have tried to find someone other than Scout.

You should have had him stand on one side of zhe lake and just run around yelling, he might have just frightened all of zhem to you.

Did he catch anyzzing?

Nothin' as big as what you just got. It might've helped if he'd stopped talking for a minute or two.

Can zhe fish hear us?

[ He takes a few sips of his beer before continuing.]

At least he came.

They can hear us enough to get scared off.

[He takes a swig of his own, picking up his rod casually as it moves, reeling the fish in with muscles well-trained to the art of fishing. They've done this dance before.]

I can appreciate that he came, at least. You'd be surprised how many turn down the opportunity.

Probably because eet does not involve guns. Maybe you should shoot zhe fish instead.

[He watched Engineer, impressed as he reels in a much larger fish without any difficulty.]

Zhis seems like somezzing Sniper would do.

[He drops the fish into the bucket after only a quick look.]

It does. Never have been able to get very friendly with them, though. Maybe you oughtta give me some pointers.

[He smiles down at their dinner later.]

My tactic was to pester zhem until zhey just accepted eet.

I can't say I ever thought that would work, but you must know somethin' I don't.

Well I can be incredibly charming.

Eet did not work as well on zhe BLU Sniper, but I zhink I was making progress before I got transferred.

Zhey have only convinced zhemselves zhey want to be solitary, eets not actually what zhey want.

And what is it they really want, Spy?
