[Continuing this thread, in which Spy has convinced Engineer to spend a vacation with him. Fishing, fine dining, and some enemy bonding ensue.


Engineer steps into the elevator, hitting the button for their floor, pulling at his collar to loosen that next button.]

Hey, thanks again for the dinner and the suit. I'll have to put it to use some other time to justify your spendin' money on all this.

[With a smug grin, Spy goes to open the door, still in his pajamas, but at least he's fully dressed. He cracks the door open, taking the tray from the porter who once again has the wrong idea about what's going on in the room.]

Smells like waffles.

[He is apparently going to eat in said skivvies, as he's clearing the table in them.]

Free food does make eet all zhe tastier. Zhough you earned zhis. Zhey should also give you free laundry seeing as how you managed to cover yourself een grease.

They could, but it ain't like a little grease is gonna kill me. I wouldn't be workin' in the field I do if it did.

But eet will ruin your clozzes. Grease ees fat based, eet gets eento zhe weave and ees almost impossible to get out.

I can always buy more if I need to. S'not like I got much else to spend my money on, right?

Except all zhe machine parts you are constantly using.

Or does zhe company pay for all zhose?

[Ah, waffles with breakfast sausages. Spy happily pours maple syrup into all the little squares.]

They pay for some. I get most on my own, though. Harder for them to keep tabs that way on what I'm doin' with company property.

[He takes the seat opposite Spy, grabbing the cloth napkin and preparing to tuck— or maybe he won't tuck it into his shirt, given he's not wearing one.]

I think they would do that, and disagree with some of the other things I've been buildin'.

Well let us hope zhey do not look too closely at what you are doing zhen.

Eet would spoil all my vacation plans.

And what plans are those?

Zhe plan where we try zhis again sometime, but perhaps at zhe beach.

Or mountains. I have not yet decided.

I think you'd like the mountains more. You usually wear less clothes when goin' to the beach.

I did not say I was going to go een zhe water.

[He huffs a little, irked that Engineer could tell he didn't like to be without clothes.]

You gonna lay out in the sand in that suit of yours?

What ees wrong wez a suit?

Ain't nothin' wrong with it. Just seems to be defeatin' the purpose of the beach is all.

Een any case I have not been to zhe beach since I was a teenager, so I would not know.

Well, let's do the mountains next, then the beach. As you can imagine, sand and a hand like this just don't go together all that well.
