[Continuing this thread, in which Spy has convinced Engineer to spend a vacation with him. Fishing, fine dining, and some enemy bonding ensue.


Engineer steps into the elevator, hitting the button for their floor, pulling at his collar to loosen that next button.]

Hey, thanks again for the dinner and the suit. I'll have to put it to use some other time to justify your spendin' money on all this.

Had Soldier for a defense attorney.

Smissmas, a while back. See, the boys had gotten into some trouble, and had managed to rope Spy into it somehow. It wouldn't have been so bad had Soldier not taken it upon himself to be their legal representation, and next thing you know, they're all fightin' like cats in the courtroom.

[He laughs, remembering some of the photos.]

They got sentenced to community service at the Teufort mall, with Soldier playin' Santa and Scout as his elf. Not sure what they wanted Spy to do, but I can guarantee they didn't get him in a costume.

I am not sure what ees worse, Soldier as legal defense, or Scout attempting to defend himself.

Neither worked in the courtroom, I'll tell you that. If I end up arrested, I'll be hiring someone to represent me.

Eef at all possible hire Miss Pauling. I have never known anyone who knew more loopholes for zhings zhan she does.

I half-expect I wouldn't have to hire her at all, come to think of it. She'd probably show up on her own the minute somethin' important broke down. That's that job security I've got.

Probably not anything, but more than most -- at least until they find a replacement for me.

I do not find zhat likely. I have been on zhe teams for some time and zhere are not many people who can do what you do.
