[Continuing this thread, in which Spy has convinced Engineer to spend a vacation with him. Fishing, fine dining, and some enemy bonding ensue.


Engineer steps into the elevator, hitting the button for their floor, pulling at his collar to loosen that next button.]

Hey, thanks again for the dinner and the suit. I'll have to put it to use some other time to justify your spendin' money on all this.

[Spy heads out into the street, noting that the clouds have thinned out letting the waning sun shine.]

You get one more night of rest before you may return to zhe base and resume fixing zhe sink.

How many projects are you currently working on?

More than I can and should go over with you. Some of 'em are small and personal, and others are for the team.

I see. Well I will not pry, I do not want to compromise your work.

Do you ever relax? Or work on zhings for fun?

When I find the time.

[So no, not particularly.]

If I can make time for it, I do. And some things get pushed to the head of the line because they can't wait.

And what subject would you suggest I start with, professor?

For you I would suggest getting outside and enjoying zhe scenery. I am sure you spend days hunched over your work bench never knowing what time eet ees.

It probably isn't.

[He laughs, knowing Spy is serious about vacationing. His stomach grumbles mid-laugh, though; they should probably focus more on getting that food and less on what they're not doing to take care of themselves.]

[There's a burger place around the corner that Spy leads them to; complete with wire chairs, black and white tiles, and a few couples sharing milkshakes out of the same straws.]

Ah, zhis looks promising een my quest for milkshakes.

[Engie follows, ready to stop his stomach from rumbling, smiling and nodding to one of the couples as they glance his way.]

That sweet tooth of yours never rests, does it?

Not so long as butterscotch exists.

[He slides into a seat, skipping over most of the menu and going right to the ice cream section.]

[Engie takes the opposite seat, doing pretty much the opposite thing, as well: he glances over the dinner choices, ready to fill his stomach. Said stomach nearly plummets from under him as he glances over Spy's shoulder and sees Miss Pauling.

The panic on his face is immediate, but dissipates as he gets a better look at her- no, that's not her. Just another dark-haired lady about her age in cat-eye glasses. She's even wearing a purple blouse to complete the image, but it's definitely not her.

Not that she didn't give him a fright. He smiles and hides further behind his menu, a little sheepish.]

[Spy arches an eyebrow.]

Are you quite alright?

[Spy assumes he spotted another attractive woman and is going to disintegrate into a ball of nerves at any moment.]

Just about gave myself a heart attack is all, partner. Though I saw Miss Pauling back there.

[He runs a hand over his head, checking again- nope, still not her.]

Well zhat would have been unfortunate. But you are allowed to go on leave you realize. Zhat ees what zhis time off ees for.
