[Continuing this thread, in which Spy has convinced Engineer to spend a vacation with him. Fishing, fine dining, and some enemy bonding ensue.


Engineer steps into the elevator, hitting the button for their floor, pulling at his collar to loosen that next button.]

Hey, thanks again for the dinner and the suit. I'll have to put it to use some other time to justify your spendin' money on all this.

[He pours the wine with the polished grace of someone who's done it hundreds of times. Granted never into short square glasses, but the end result is the same.]

Anyzzing of interest?

A gun show one week, a fair the next. Some kind of a circus rollin' in in a few days. There is a movie theater, though.

[Not that he'd been to a movie in years. Anything would probably be interesting.

Spy settles into his chair, starting on the soup. It hasn't even gotten that cold from how long it's been sitting there. Still very tasty.]

[Engineer joins him, giving him a nod of thanks for the wine.]

I think they've got a James Bond film playin'. You seen any of those?

[He grins, but shakes his head.]

Non, actually I have not. Eets razzer lonely to see a movie by yourself.

Well, now is your chance to change that.

I would enjoy zhat.

Eef nozzing else perhaps I can learn somezzing about how to run around shooting everyone I meet.

[A few intrepid vacationers are walking the edge of the lake with a flashlight to light their way, the beacon almost blinding in the dark. Spy watches them for a while before finishing up his soup.]

Not zhat I would want to do zhat anyway.

I haven't known you for long, but you don't seem like the type who would.

[He downs his soup quickly. That is good. Very, very good.]

I am not a fan of meaningless bloodshed.

[Or any bloodshed really. Why couldn't he have been hired somewhere to cook and hug furry animals?]

That, and they'd have to know somethin' about you to make a movie. Seein' how reluctant you were to tell me anything, I can't see you goin' through with that.

[Well this is incredibly delicious. And he caught this thing they're eating! He's so proud.]

[He agrees as he takes a bite himself. He'd be a little jealous Spy caught the biggest one if he wasn't so enamored with the flavor.]

You might have to, some day. Never know when I'm going to get transferred again. It might be to your base next time.

[He just smiles to that, keeping something to himself as he takes another bite.]

You sure did catch us a good one, partner. Not bad at all for your first time fishin' with a rod.

I was not expecting to even catch anyzzing so I call zhis a success.

And neizzer of us are full of hooks. You really are a good teacher.

[He refills his wine glass.]

How did Scout do?

[He holds out his own glass for refilling while Spy has the bottle.]

Didn't catch a single thing. Couldn't get him to keep his voice down for long enough.

[Spy smiles and refills his glass as well.]

I am glad I did better zhan Scout.

I had a feelin' you would.

[He takes a drink before returning to the fish.]

I've gotta admit that this vacation idea of yours hasn't been bad so far. I might be changin' my mind later tonight with this game we're playin', but I'm glad I came.

[Just wait until he refuses to give the clothes back at the end of the game.]
