[Continuing this thread, in which Spy has convinced Engineer to spend a vacation with him. Fishing, fine dining, and some enemy bonding ensue.


Engineer steps into the elevator, hitting the button for their floor, pulling at his collar to loosen that next button.]

Hey, thanks again for the dinner and the suit. I'll have to put it to use some other time to justify your spendin' money on all this.

I don't expect goin' back to it is an option either, should you live through this.

Classified or not, I'm sure you weren't the only one in a bad situation before this job came along. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other mercenaries were picked out of jail, either.

[Spy sets down his double pair, so much for his winning streak. Off goes his jacket to hang on the back of his chair.]

Eet would not surprise me. Where else would zhey find people desperate enough to agree to zhis?

[He nods appreciatively, wetting his whistle with the wine before continuing to shuffle.]

A boy like that? I'm bettin' all they had to do was offer him money. It ain't about the paycheck, though. It'd be about makin' his mama proud.

I'd imagine he doesn't tell her that part. Just that he's a workin' man with a job that can help support the family.

True. I heard he's got a lot of brothers. Maybe she's just at that point where she ain't surprised by anything anymore.

Probably eef zhey are all as boisterous as Scout she has stopped listening to zhem past where zhey tell her zhey are doing fine.

So we've got some men here because of circumstance, and some men here for the money. I think Demoman would've taken the job even if it didn't pay well on account of it bein' a job at all. It's the family business with them, I believe.

[He resists the temptation to swap out any cards to try to get something better.]

[He slides out of his chair, unbuttoning those dress pants. Enjoy the sight of his tighty-wighties.]

I don't think any of us anticipated that bein' our family's lastin' mark on this world, but that's how it is.

At least zhe little sentries you make are cute.

[He eases back into his chair and pushes the deck back to Spy.]

Pyro says that, too. I don't think most mercenaries would agree, seein' how they're too busy gettin' torn apart by 'em.

Well zhey beep and make adorable sounds. Until zhey get bigger and zhen zhey are not so cute.

[Stop comparing him to Pyro. He huffs as he takes the deck and reshuffles.]

So I should adjust the sounds to something more intimidating.
