[Continuing this thread, in which Spy has convinced Engineer to spend a vacation with him. Fishing, fine dining, and some enemy bonding ensue.


Engineer steps into the elevator, hitting the button for their floor, pulling at his collar to loosen that next button.]

Hey, thanks again for the dinner and the suit. I'll have to put it to use some other time to justify your spendin' money on all this.

Oui but I am limited to only a day or so away from zhe base. I cannot go across zhe country or anyzzing.

And how would I get on a plane wez no identification. I would have to forge somezzing and eet would be much easier for zhe company to track zhan my driving.

How'd you get into the country? You sneak aboard a boat? Or did RED bring you here themselves?

Oui. I would assume a plane zhough. Which ees unfortunate because I am sure zhe view was lovely.

I'm sure it was.

You know, you do have a watch that makes you invisible. It wouldn't be hard for you to get on a flight if you had someone buy an extra ticket for you, just to make sure you had an empty seat.

I will have to zhink hard about where I would want to go. Everywhere does not really make for good holiday plans.

[He breathes in the fresh air, cleansed by the rain.]

[Engineer smiles, watching people walk past them as they head for the theater.]

Me too. It ain't that bad at all.

And not working ees a nice change.

I have not ruined a single suit!

We've still got a day, so you might not want to jinx it.

Perhaps I will spill popcorn all over eet at zhe theatre.

I wonder where everyone ees, eet rained and now zhey are all hiding?

Does seem a bit sparse, doesn't it?

[There's not a line for the theater at all as he nears the booth.]

Might have a theater to ourselves. This ain't all that big a town as it is.

Good. No one will talk zhrough eet.

[And they can sit in the back of the theater and canoodle.]

And we can buy out zhe concession stand.

Now that's a plan right there. I do have a bit of a sweet tooth.

[He beelines for the door, leaving Spy to the ticket booth.]

You get our tickets, and I'll clear out their candy aisle.

I knew I could count on you.

[He cheerfully buys their tickets, noting that there's only a few scarce people around them. The rain really must have scared them away. Well that was fine. More movie theater for him and Engineer.

Tickets in hand he catches up to Engineer, peering over his shoulder at his purchases.]

[Engineer might have bought one of everything. In fact, he just about did, his pockets lined with candy and couple of bags of popcorn tucked in his arms as he tries to juggle the drinks.]

Don't think they were expectin' a pair like us to come in here today. Probably not ever, either.

We are making zheir fortune, zhey can deal wez eet.

[He takes the drinks before Engineer drops everything on the floor, tucking the tickets into his pocket.]

I am used to being overdressed wherever I go, eet does not bozzer me.

I think you could tell from the other night I don't get gussied up often.

[After navigating their way into the theater, Engineer is a little relieved to see it is totally empty, save for two other people in the front row. He picks them a spot in the middle, where they can get a good view.]

This fine with you?

[Visions of necking in the back row are dashed to smithereens but he's determined to be a gentleman about this. He nods settling down into the seat and getting comfortable.]

You clean up nice zhough. You should do eet more often.

[He goes to set the drinks on the ground before realizing that the theater had upgraded to having fancy cupholders attached to the seats in front of them. ]

Well zhat ees clever.

Ain't it, though?

[He settles down in his seat, his attention on the screen as news reels play before the film. Unsurprisingly is a part about Teufort and the gravel wars that are "devastating the region."]

Well, so much for complete anonymity.

I still do not understand how gravel ees ruining anyzzing. Or why eets worzh fighting over een zhe first place.

But zhe towns must let zhem, or zhey would run zhe teams out.

[He starts in on the popcorn.]

I'm sure the money we spend when we do go to town helps ease their minds.

[He has a handful himself, making himself comfy in his chair as the news reel finishes. Time for On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

It's a good thing they go to see an exciting film full of action, drama, and espionage; it's even better that they're not having a test on it later, as Engie is sound asleep no more than ten minutes in. Apparently, the night caught up with him, and no amount of candy or soda could keep him awake.]

[At least he's not snoring.

Spy wraps an arm around him and leans him against his side. Spy continues shoveling popcorn into his mouth, actually pretty interested in the movie.

He definitely needs more gadgets.]
