Vacationing

[Continuing this thread, in which Spy has convinced Engineer to spend a vacation with him. Fishing, fine dining, and some enemy bonding ensue.


Engineer steps into the elevator, hitting the button for their floor, pulling at his collar to loosen that next button.]

Hey, thanks again for the dinner and the suit. I'll have to put it to use some other time to justify your spendin' money on all this.

We wouldn't be able to appreciate all this as much if we stayed here. Goin' back just makes us look forward to gettin' away from it all.

I zhink I could appreciate zhis plenty while still being here.

[He glances up at the sun, estimating what time it was. His watch does many things, but telling time is not one of them. With an exaggerated sigh he heads for the hotel.]

I suppose we should be going zhen.

[sentryslinger]

Don't sound so glum, partner! Just think of where you'll want to go next, and it'll be here before you know it.

[He gets to the door first, holding it open for Spy.]

Very true. Ever zhe optimist aren't you?

You know it.

How about you pack up our things while I let 'em know we're checking out?

[not_onyourside]

I am up to zhe task!

[He bows flamboyantly before leaving for the elevators and heading back up to the room.]

[Engineer grins as his companion heads back to their rooms, making his way to the front desk. The clerk remembers them -- kind of hard to forget those two, especially the one who was very excited to fix a generator -- and is happy to check them out. Just bring him the keys on their way out the door, and they're set.

With that taken care of, Engie waits by the elevators for Spy to help him with the luggage, the receipt for the room in his hand. He'd have paid it himself, but his money is up in the room -- that, and he's sure Spy would protest.]

[Spy reappears with all their luggage. Your clothes have probably never been so neatly folded since you bought them Engie.]

Any problems?

Nope. Just got to hand over the keys and pay the nice people.

You sure you don't want me to get this? You did pay for the first couple of nights, and you had to put up with me all this time.

[not_onyourside]

Absolument non. Zhis one ees my treat, and zhe next one ees on you. Zhat ees our deal.

[ He leaves without another word to go pay for their rooms before Engineer tries to wedge himself in there and do it himself. Spy's charming smile does get a few dollars knocked off their bill though.

He returns triumphant, fishing his car keys out of his pocket.]

Ready for anozzer road trip?

I'm ready to get home and get that sink fixed, if that's what you're askin'.

[He's grabbed the luggage in the meantime, ready to haul it to Spy's fancy car. He's used to hauling stuff, after all.]

Your teammates will be ecstatic.

[He follows behind Engie, taking in one last lecherous view of the mans muscles bunching as he carries the luggage.]

[Enjoy that, Spy -- it might be the last you see of them for a while once this vacation is over.]

Maybe Heavy, who is always runnin' out of plates for his sandwiches, but probably no one else.

[Sob.]

I was being sarcastic. But I suppose eet will at least make you feel better to have fixed somezzing.

It will. You know I like fixin' things.

[Even the unfixable.]

[He opens the door for Engineer, lamenting that he's not going to get to see him shirtless again for a long time.]

Oui, and zhe next zhing you need to work on fixing ees your ability to relax and live life.

I'll save that for the next time we head out on a trip like this. Assumin' there is a next time, and we don't get in trouble for goin' on this one.

I am confident we will not be caught. And zhere had better be a next time or I will be very disappointed.

Do not be such a pessimist. All will go well.

Less pessimism, and more realism, Spy. But one of us has to be the idealist.

I suppose.

[Time to head back at a zillion miles per hour.]

[Engie looks super thrilled to be back in that speed wagon of Spy's. Just thrilled.]

Speakin' of me bein' a realist, maybe we could keep the car to the speed limit this time around?

Why does everyone say zhat? I have not been een an accident yet.

And I haven't built a sentry that's turned on me yet. Doesn't mean it might not happen someday.
