Who: RED Pyro (
notintehkitchen) & BLU Engineer (
sentryslinger)
When & Where: Nighttime at the Coaltown Barracks
Why: For a bonfire!
Status: Ongoing
[Getting assigned to a new base was nothing unusual for Engineer: he'd been moved from one place to another his entire career, never spending too long in one location. It was a hard job being a builder, but one he enjoyed enough to stay when many others in his position would have quit long ago.
However, getting assigned to a base full of REDs was a new experience. With the war between RED and BLU ending in a truce where the teams combined forces to fight wave after wave of Gray Mann's robot legions, it was inevitable that he'd eventually end up on a team with a RED or two. What he hadn't expected was to be the only BLU there, the rest of his comrades his former enemies.
Engineer was the sort to get along though, and a man who took first impressions seriously. He'd done well on the battlefield the past few days, trying to acclimate to his new coworkers. The Heavy was as friendly as any he'd met on BLU, the Medic just as skittish, the Scout just as boisterous. Demoman wasn't far from his BLU counterpart either, despite the claim of how few one-eyed, cyclopean Scotsmen there were in the world.
The problem arose when work was done and it was time to head home for the night. The REDs mostly kept to themselves- to them, he was still a newcomer, just barely above the robots they fought in terms of trust. It was going to take time for them to treat him like one of the team. He knew that much from all the bases he'd been transferred to during his career.
That was why he decided to start small, and with someone he was definitely going to be working with on a close basis: the Pyro. Judging by the fact that the rest of the REDs had eerily resembled BLUs he'd worked with in the past, he felt it was a safe bet that the Pyro wasn't too distant from ones he'd seen, either.
And that was the reason he'd invited her to a bonfire a short distance from the barracks. He figured he couldn't go wrong with that.]

Sake is fine then! Screw that!
[Saaaaaaaay hello to the 4th drink! Is her language getting a little loose? She can't be bothered, she's feeling nice and warm and totally comfortable being next to Engie at the moment.]

on 2015-04-16 09:35 pm (UTC)It's just a phrase, Pyro. If it wasn't, Scout would have probably stolen every bit Demo has long ago.

on 2015-04-17 12:33 am (UTC)[This was going weird places fast. Pyro didn't seem ashamed about mentioning her lack of assets.]
Not that it's a bad thing 'cuz um... I don't have to keep bras around this place so nothing awkward happens.
[Like now.]

on 2015-04-17 04:29 am (UTC)Well, I think I'm going to be the cruel one and say you've probably had just about enough of that for the night.

on 2015-04-17 04:36 am (UTC)[Making a little pout, she turns her head and tries to drink the remainder in the cup at the very least.]
Engineer can't be cruel, there's no way. I can't see that at all. T-that's why... he probably has... lots of girlfriends and stuff and Scout is jealous, huh? I bet!

on 2015-04-17 03:11 pm (UTC)Yeah, I think you've definitely had enough of this for now. You know what they say about moderation.
[Though he gets the distinct feeling she absolutely does not know what they say about moderation.]

on 2015-04-17 03:43 pm (UTC)Mou. It's no big deal, I'm okay. It's just really warm but I don't want to take off my clothes or anything. I like this sort of heat and don't want to cool down.
[Pressing her lips together as if to actually hold in her words, it looks like she might be having a moment of regret. That period only last for a few seconds though before she slumps over the bottle on the ground though.]
You know...
I realize you probably think I'm a child and akin to something more like a pet--but... it would be wonderful if I could truly be seen as a woman by you.

on 2015-04-17 03:59 pm (UTC)He sighs, wiping some sweat from his own brow. He can hold his liquor fairly well, but that stuff certainly has a kick later.]
Pyro, a man would have to be blind to not be able to see you're a woman.

on 2015-04-17 04:13 pm (UTC)Really? Really, really?
[He's probably trying to be nice to her. He has no obligation to be, but he was for reasons, right?!]
Can you do me a favor then? Only one time is all I need to hear it..
[Swallowing hard, she felt herself redden this time from something other then the alcohol.]
Call me Momo, okay?
no subject
on 2015-04-17 04:18 pm (UTC)That isn't your real name, is it?

on 2015-04-17 04:21 pm (UTC)[It is, it so is.]

on 2015-04-17 04:25 pm (UTC)Well, we're supposed to be workin' together now, but I still think we shouldn't be sharin' such things. We don't know what we're gonna be doing once this here robot war is over, after all.
[He grabs the skewers with the last of the hot dogs, offering one to her as he kicks some dirt over the embers of the dying fire.]
But... I suppose it couldn't hurt for you to call me Dell. That okay, Momo?
no subject
on 2015-04-17 04:37 pm (UTC)[Reasons that drifted off and silenced themselves even in a drunken stupor that Pyro thought too embarrassing to say.
As a hot dog was offered to her, she took it and perked up while looking at him. Did he just say--?!]
Dell? That's your name?

on 2015-04-17 05:14 pm (UTC)[He tears the hot dog off the skewer and pushes it into his mouth, making quick work of it.]
Come on. Let's get you back to the base before you fall over yourself.
[[ ooc: That seem like a good place to wrap it up? We can always meme with another prompt another time! ]]
