But why you'd go and do all that for a man you've only dealt with on the battlefield and in a blizzard was beyond me, so I got to thinkin' of why. I'm not sayin' you aren't all that altruistic, but puttin' yourself out there like that -- riskin' your life by fraternizing with the enemy, even if we aren't at the same base and are off-duty -- doesn't seem like a thing any of us would do.
